Microregion Odersko [ Microregion ]

Mikroregion Odersko
Microregion Odersko (further only MO) was established on the basis of Contract on setting up of voluntary association from 19th December 2001. It is made up by territories of nine villages in the western part of existing district Nový Jičín. It concerns continual territory on boundary-line of three existing districts: Nový Jičín, Opava and Přerov. MO is a village microregion even if its economical character is not predominantly agricultural. A natural administrative and economic centre of MO is the town Odry which is surrounded by other villages of the voluntary association: Luboměř, Spálov, Heřmánky, Heřmanice u Oder, Jakubčovice nad Odrou, Vražné, Mankovice and Jeseník nad Odrou. These villages are of typical village character (see map of the microregion Odersko). Natural dominant of MO is the river Odra. Its stream cuts across the whole solved territory. Constituent of the territory lied in a pictoresque landscape of Odry's hills belonging to complex of the Lower Jeseník. Value and interest of the region from the point of view of fauna and flora is emphasized with protective measures in terms of the Natural park Odry's hills and the Protected Landscape Area Poodří. MO neighbours on north to microregion Moravice nad on southeast to microregion Poodří. Two villages of MO, Vražné and Jeseník nad Odrou are simultaneously members of association of villages "Poodří region".
